It's a Cowgirl Blog Hop!

It's a blog hop at Cowgirl-Up Designs. Here's my card for today's hop:

I used a beautiful new image from Cowgirl Up Designs. Don't you just love it? I know I do. I printed it and colored it twice. I cut out the second image and popped up some of the flowers on the card.

You'll want to know some of the information about the blog hop as there are PRIZES! Crafty Ribbons is our Sponsor for the challenge win.

The picture above is the a picture of the ribbons that the winner will win. You may use this pic to post on your blog post. Their link is Crafty Ribbons.

The winner of the challenge will receive the Flower Ribbons plus 3 images from CJ and the Winners Badge to display on their blog.

The "Top 3" will each receive 2 images from CJ and the "Top 3" Winners badge to display on their blogs.

During the hop there will be candy to win as well. To win the candy you "must hop" along the list in order, look for the letter to spell out the sentence. Leave a comment on each blog beginning at our challenge blog and ending with an ending comment at our challenge blog. Once they collect all of the letters to spell out the sentence they must e-mail their answer to raesweb@yahoo.com we will be picking the candy winner by a number generator.

My letter for the hop is I. Now, if you came from here Elke's blog, you are on the right track and your next stop is Jovita.

Have tons of fun and thanks for hopping along with us. Janet

Fairy Fun Fridays

I just love images by the Prairie Fairy, don't you? I'm using this christmas image, and yes, I do realize that the colors aren't particularly Christmas-y, but I'm really liking what I'm seeing out there. Lots bloggers are making cards that don't necessarily fit the traditional look of holiday cards, and I'm loving them.

So--on to the card. The challenge can be found here. We are challenged to used punches.

Here's the card:

I used spellbinders dies to cut out the scalloped circle and the labels 10 die to cut out the two centre pieces. I used my flourishes Tim Holtz die to cut out the two flourishes I put on the card. I pressed them into my glue pad and then sprinkled glitter on them. (I love glitz!) I colored the image with copics, and added some sparkle to the image by using stickles on the fur pieces. The flower is made by using the flower punch (SU). I punched it three times, and cut the middle and top layer a bit smaller. I used a dollar store brad in the centre of it.

I hope all those punches meet the criteria. I'm also entering it in the Stamp Something Challenge and in the Friday Sketchers Challenge #116.

Thanks for looking, and for all your comments. I really love reading them. Janet

Mo Manning Challenge

I have always loved the images created by Mo Manning...I finally got up the courage to color one and create a card.

Here it is:

I used two cuttlebug folders to add texture to the two top layers of pink. I added a sparkly flourish to the front as well. I also used some lustre rub on the cuttlebugged pieces.

Hope you like it.

Happy Mousey Birthday

I'm on a roll, it seems! I've made another card for a challenge. This one is over at Paperworks Co., in particular, their Sketch 47.

Here's my card:

It's a birthday card, as you can tell. I love this mousey cake image. It's just so darn cute! I colored it with copics, and added some sparkle. I used some DP that was in my stash (trying to use up scraps) and some ribbon I believe I got at Michael's. I also used my Spellbinders Fancy Labels die to cut out the spot for the sentiment. The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse stamps--that set is made to specifically coordinate with the fancy labels die. Cool, eh?

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Tilda in Red

I joined the Tilda challenge this week. We were challenged to create a card featuring Tilda, but it had to be red. I created two cards, as I was experimenting with skin colors. One Tilda has caucasian-type skin, while the second Tilda has a darker skin tone.

I had a friend tell me that she would really like to get some cards where the image has darker skin (as she does). Well--that opened my eyes. I've never really noticed, til then, that most images are colored with a lighter skin tone. So, I've been experimenting. I still haven't got the tone I want, but I'm getting there.

Here's Tilda in Red #1:

Here is Tilda in Red #2:

I colored her using my copic markers, and used the martha stewart punch for the edges. I also used a Hero Arts background stamp for the second layer--stamped in versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I also used some pearls from the dollar store, but I colored them with my copics so they matched the card.

Hope you like them! I've entered them in the following challenge:

It's a great day at the Cowgirl Stamp'en Challenge blog!

It's challenge day today and the theme is Summertime Feeling. Have you got the summertime feeling? I know I have. It's very hot today...supposed to at least 30C so it's definitely still summer here in Manitoba.

Here's the card I made for today's challenge:

I used one of the Cowgirl images called Watering Can, which can be found here. I colored it with my copics, and used cardstock to help create the stamp as the focal point. I finished it off with some ribbon I got at Michael's.

Just Magnolia Challenge Week 68

I've been coloring up Magnolia images for a while now and I just love them. This is the card I made for the current challenge at the Just Magnolia blog:

I used my Copics again to color the image. I used prima flowers which I colored with glimmer mist. I also used some Prima lace as an embellishment.

That's me for today!

Blog Candy Alert!

Check out the blog candy over here! It's great!

Friday Sketchers #115

Here is a card that I colored while I was at the lake. It was a great day for coloring, since it was 40C outside, and there was no way I was braving that kind of weather. So, while we watched a movie, I colored this image.

I think the image is a Hanglar Stanglar. I got the image in a swap on SCS and I just love it. I followed the sketch very closely. I used a corner punch to add a bit of embellishment to the background paper. I didn't want to add anything more, since it would take away from the image. I hope you like it.

Waltzingmouse August Blog Waltz

Welcome to the Waltzingmouse August Blog Waltz! I am happy to be a part of the group again this month. Whew....I almost didn't make it! But I'm really happy to have got a project completed and posted.

If you haven't heard of Waltzingmouse Stamps be sure to visit Claire's Store and her blog. She4's got some great stamps and what I really like about them is that some of her stamps are nestie friendly! Since I'm a nestie's freak, that works great for me! Now onto my project.

I got this stamp set a few weeks ago, but hadn't inked it up yet, so this was the perfect opportunity. It's called Rescue Remedies and I just love the whole idea of it. We're off to visit my mother in law next week and I have plans on making her some cookies, so the gift bag will be for her.

I'm not sure where I got the gift bags from, but I had one left so I thought it would go really well with the Jillibean paper that caught my eye tonight. It's called Chopped Parsley--isn't that cute?! I used my nesties to cut out the tag, and stamped it with SU chocolate chip ink and then clear embossed it.

I topped the bag off with some ribbon. I used what I had in my stash, and layered the rick rack on top of the brown satin ribbon.

That's the project for this month. Have a great time on the waltz. I'm sure there are lots of beautiful creations to see. Don't forget that Claire also has hidden some icons throughout the waltz. You'll want to read about that, as their is a prize tied to it. Check out the rules here. You'll need to sign up for her forum, but it's easy.

Here is my card that I've created for this week's challenge:

I colored the image with my Copic markers and added some jewels for embellishments. I just love the fall colors in this card. I also used my Labels 10 die from Spellbinders to cut out the image. I also used a sketch to create this card, but I can't remember where I got it from. Once I find it. I'll post about it too.

I hope you like it.

It's Challenge time for the Cowgirls.

It's challenge time again over at Cowgirl's Sunday Stamp'en Challenge. Check out the challenge here on sunday.

This week is to use the inspiration picture in your challenge and to use Buttons and Ribbon on your card as well.

Here's the inspiration picture:

Polycraft is our sponsor. They will be giving away a $10.00 Gift Voucher to the Winner. The lucky winner will also get the Winners Badge.

Top 3 will each receive 1 image of choice from CJ and the Top 3 Winners Badge.

Here's my card:

I used the Belair image available here.

I colored it with my copics and added shine to it using glossy accents. I just love shiny cars! I chose the colors because they matched the inspiration picture--but I also love red, so it was an easy choice!

I hope you play along with us.

Janet

Back from the lake.

And I loved every minute of it. It was way too hot for me (40C a couple of those days), but we had a great time. We hiked one morning, fought all the mosquitoes, and made it back and had a dip in the lake. Can you say heaven! Ahhhhhhhh

We were at Brereton Lake in the Whiteshell. Lots of rocks. Tons of beauty. I highly recommend it.

Here's a pick of me at Inverness Falls:

I'm going to be scrapping all day on saturday, so I'll have some new work to post on sunday. I'm really looking forward to scrapping with the girls. Lots of laughs, and tons of fun.

Janet

And the winner is........

Nicole Brenna!

My son pulled number 38 out of the hat, and it corresponds to Nicole's comment. Congratulations Nicole.

Nicole, please send me an email with your address and I'll pop the goodies in the mail to you.
